Let It Snow

Ok, this post has nothing to do with snow other than the plate holding the Spam Musubi (pronounced moo suh bee).

Yesterday I went to Barrels and Bins and got some Sushi Rice (i.e. sticky rice) and Steph whipped up a batch of Musubi. Damned good stuff! (she made 8, other 4 were eaten :-)

  1. Yea, sticky rice is not an item that jumps off your normal grocery store shelf. Sushi rice are small, oblong little things and I found them in a dispenser, not a package. Two cups of rice, two and a half cups of water, a bit of salt, soak for ten minutes in a rice cooker, cook, let stand for five minutes.

Then, either make sushi out of it or roll it into a ball and throw it at someone as a weapon!

  2. This might be an “Eeewwwuu” moment:
I have heard that many Polynesians had been tribal and cannibalistic. SPAM is very close in taste to humans, and that is why they like it. Sort of an inherited taste. Sorry if I offended any one.
