ZypDown

I’ve created a new app called ZypDown. It uses a lot of the cool code I wrote for Scwelch that you can’t use because you’re not a member, so here you go…

Enter a zip code or a place and see all of the places around there that you didn’t know existed, and can now explore. You can also just scroll the map around the U.S. and click anywhere to get a zip code. Enjoy!

  1. this looks really cool, Jim! Being a person with very low-tech skills, I have a question – is this an app you can download on an iPhone? If so, how do you do that?

  2. Thanks! You actually don’t need to download anything, it’s a web app which means it runs inside your browser, which is Safari I assume on your iPhone. Just open your browser and type in zypdown.com and go. It scales down nicely on mobile devices. Let me know how it works!

  3. Oh cool – I checked it out and LaDuke Hot Springs didn’t show up in my hometown zip code, surprisingly. It might be closer to a different town so I’ll try again…

  4. Aha! LaDuke Hot Springs is perhaps the clue to who Anonymous might be… :-) Also, 59845 is the zip but the service returns the top 100 places and that spring just doesn’t make it in the list but I’m heading there next summer anyway.
