Piper Space

We have a lot of well built doors in our house. Quality wood, great frames. When we close the doors now, we leave a one inch crack called the Piper Space.

Our cat Piper has a strong arm. She can throw the doors wide open with a single swipe. Tonight I saw our bedroom door open and yelled to Steph, Pipers gone to bed!

I then restored the door to one inch.

Before the snow came she could open the family room screen door, exiting out to the deck, and go outside when she wished. Never could teach her to close it though…

  1. Jim- Meg here (Piper’s 1st mommy), I just can’t tell you how happy it has made me to read your sweet little posts about Piper-striper-doodle puff! It means the world to me that she has a wonderful new home and it is very apparent that she is so loved! It is bittersweet to see her cute lil face as she is greatly missed but I can tell that she is as happy as ever. I love that sweet kitty so much – she lick lick lick and she bite bite bite and she is NICE! She’s a little hoglette and a crunchy lover and always will be! Thank you ever so much for taking such good care of her and loving her the way that she deserves. She has certainly chosen her new owners well! Hope all is well with you and Stephanie in this new year, and keep those pictures coming – I will always adore her and admire her from a distance :)

  2. Thanks for the kind words Meg! We do love her. She’s sitting at my feet now, waiting patiently for me to play with her. And, thanks for raising such a sweet cat. You are certainly welcome to drop by anytime to visit with her. I’ll keep the pictures coming, and I just called her Piper-striper-doodle puff: I swear she smiled at me. :-)

  3. Having had in excess of 40 cats in the 29 1/2 years of marriage to Marilyn I have seen so much of the ability of what cats can do that I could write a book about it (even thought of doing so). I am however enjoying your journey of discovery. It brings back memories. So don’t stop the missives,we are enjoying them. And prepare for more to come. I am also a dog fancier but the cat is Gods second wonder after man.
