Deck Umbrella

Our deck umbrella has been my good friend this summer. I’ve spent a lot of time out there listening to conservative talk radio and rocking out to Seattle radio on my Echo. I store all of my toys under the umbrella where I escape to when my carefully crafted sun tan says break! Now I can photograph it in all it’s glory with my new camera.

Not to be outdone, here’s a knob on my barbeque grill:

  1. Four years ago, or more since you last visited. We’ve been in Petaluma 2-1/2 years. My how time flies.
Question: how do you like ALEXA? I was curious if Alexa takes dictation. Grant has been told he should write his memoirs. He’s not great at writing, but you know, he loves to talk. It’s either that or the program DRAGON. You know, he told Jimmy Buffett where to go to find the port in Tahiti that he wrote “One Particular Harbor” about; he sailed his Yacht from New Zealand to Tahiti through a hurricane to get to Tahiti by a certain date to get a yacht charter business license; he was Janis Joplin’s friend, neighbor, and her vodka gimlet maker; he traveled to Tibet to Mt. Kailash on a Buddhist pilgrimage, as well as met and photographed the Dalai Lama and the Dalai Lama poked Grant in the stomach and laughed. Grant also went with Ray Manzarek (of the Doors) to talk to Oliver Stone about his movie “The Doors” and to show him Jim Morrison’s Paris Journal that Grant owned. Soon much more. I thought if Alexa could help him get it down on paper. (Sorry this is such a long note)

  2. It’s me again… Hey, I’ve got a radio stations for you to have your Echo tune into (on the computer). It’s KRSH (the Crush). They play blues, jazz and other eclectic music. I think on Sundays Charlie Musselwhite has a show playing great, obscure tunes.

  3. The Echo (aka Alexa) doesn’t dictate, yet. They’ve opened up the API and new apps are being developed by non-Amazon coders so who knows? btw: Grant doesn’t need that service, he’s got you! You write well.
