Ah, nothing like stepping into your nice warm office to start the day. Ok, not in my reality. After brushing the snow off, scraping the ice down and thumping the tires, the cockpit slowly begins to warm up to a human compatible level.
I was shocked a while back to discover that my new sweet little Chevy ride does not have a block heater. Every bus we’ve ever driven up here had an electrical plug coming out of the engine compartment. Out temps can drop down to forty below and a warm engine in the morning can be critical.
I’ll see how it goes but they will have to pry this bus from my frozen fingers. With a low profile, six wheels and new snow tires she’s rock solid on our gnarly roads.
(next morning update: it’s -14, windchill = -28, we’ll see…)
There appears to be a hell of a lot of snow on that bus. Time for the garage. My Daddy use to hang a light under the hood to help keep it warm. It always worked. We had some mighty cold nights in Ohio during the winter.
damn its time to go south
Ooh, and I’m complaining of severe cold at 50+/- degrees here. Brrrrr!
We have no garage, you’re looking at it. There are engine blankets you can place under the hood, but what a pain…
You read my mind girl. Spring Break, yea!
I love my new spam blocker but I have to guess at who Anonymous is… Skoge, is that you in CA? Sheila in WA? Perhaps an xxx here: to start off?
(just looked at the IP, hi Skoge!)
