Cache Bridge

I was sitting next to the Teton River at Cache Bridge this morning, waiting to pick up my little old lady going to the hairdresser. Her place is right around the corner.

I’ve been enjoying the melt off going on here in the Valley, a few warm days this time of year can burn the snow down quickly. It’s happening out here on Packsaddle road as well as my yard. I call it pre-Spring.

It’s the time of year you start thinking about the joys of summer here in the Valley, the Victor 4th of July Parade, the Huntsman event, the Hot Air Balloons… But, I’ve lived here long enough to know that pre-Spring is just one deceptively evil pimp job.

All the snow in the Valley will melt, the road crews start working on the pot-holes, we call the lawn guy to get our sprinkler system going, and then a major storm dumps a foot of snow on us! Maybe two or three dumps before Real Spring arrives.

Such is our life in the Rockies…
