You know it’s really cold when the snow that fell off your shoes on Friday is still on the floorboard of your truck come Monday morning, and the truck spent the entire weekend inside your garage.
You also know it’s really cold when the local school system shuts down, as it did this morning. These are tough kids, and closures don’t happen often.
So, how cold is it? I’m tapping this post out on my smartphone, let me check…
Update: My son Riley just called and asked if that was the windchill temperature. Nope, no wind here today, just pure raw cold…
Wow, it felt like it was that cold this morning. Why do we live here??? Oh yea, no traffic, no neighbors, no stress… :-)
I live in Raleigh, NC and it was about 70 degrees yesterday, that’s 100 degree difference which seems incredible. You’ve got some serious frigid temps!
We’ve been here through a few winters now and that was the coldest I can remember without a windchill factor. Enjoy your 70° winter weather Tom :-)

Modern freezers maintain a -10° temperature to preserve food. We were 22° colder than a freezer yesterday :-)
wed. it is so cold being inside feels like getting back in bed for cover up your head not waiting for samta but to stay half warm.
