Bad Bales

I don’t know anything about cattle ranching, but I do know bad hay when I see it. This same ranch is notorious for cows on the road and it just seems to me they could do better. Most people in this valley cover their hay in the winter.

Many years ago a school bus driver pulled me out of a ditch a few miles down the road from here and he was telling me he lost twelve horses that day due to wet hay. But hay, what the hell do I know about it…

  1. Moldy hay. No wonder the cows try to escape. They’re looking for dry, clean hay.
    (We’ll be in our new home by next Monday night. The movers are coming Monday to get our stuff and we’ll have furniture in by Tuesday.)
