From the Porch

It’s a beautiful day for a little badminton on the lawn! Ok, it’s a beautiful day at least, but cold! Too cold for badminton, oh well. Nice snow though…

Perspective

Nothing like a little perspective from an old silo in Tetonia to wrap up the week!

Chicken Adobo 3

I tried to get Riley to take Jessica up to the market for some Chicken Adobo, and then take pictures of the menu I heard was on the wall. Nope, Super Bowl Sunday!

So, I used the internet to fly the magic carpet there, and grab this content:

There is much more to this dish! You need to create the pancit, which is rice noodles cooked with other goodies, which are placed over the rice before the Adobo.

Here’s a good simple Pancit recipe (sans the canned chicken) that I’m going to try out this Super Bowl Sunday.

Graphics Sweetness

Man, there is nothing like a graphics card update to a high end system! If it works…

Back to the beginning: I’m a long time Microsoft Flight Simulator fan. I ran the very first one on an early PC, and several since. The other day I learned that they’re releasing their new version next month, for free. The only problem is, the graphics requirements are insane!

I’ve got the hardware and software to run it like crazy: A Supermicro C7P67 motherboard running a Sandy Bridge 32nm Intel Core I5 2500K @ 3.30GHz with 8 GB Mushkin DDR3 memory @ 532MHz displaying on a 27 inch SyncMaster monitor and running MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1, but the graphics card was lacking.

So, I bought a new graphics card:

It requires two slots and two power connectors, as opposed to one each, and it needs a lot of room inside the case! I should have done more research on this card, it’s too long!

So, I’m returning it to NewEgg and going for plan B, an Nvidea card shorter than this one. :-)
