Victor Parade 2016

Steph and I rode down to the Victor Parade this morning with our next door neighbor Brian. We beat the crowds, grabbed a sweet parking spot and positioned in front of Grumpy’s Goat Shack, which is on the opposite side of the street from where I normally shoot from. The crowd we were hanging with were Grumpyites so I broke tradition and it worked out well.

I took 253 photos of the parade. Normally I weed them down but each one is great so I’m giving you the entire set, in the sequence it was shot, unadulterated. What you see is what I saw, standing at the front edge of the parade line. We ended up eating at Grumpy’s so you can see that also.

Click the photo below to see the Set or go right into the Slideshow.

This is also a testament to the tools I have developed to present this blog to you. I’ve automated the process of renaming and resizing a large number of photos, uploading them to my Flickr Pro account, and then generating custom code to display them all…

I hope you enjoy! Happy Independence Day.

Family Brunch

My sister had the family over to her hacienda today for brunch. All three kids, spouses, new baby, Steph and I, along with the kids dad from Orinda, two dogs, and a cat.

The kitchen chatter was suddenly shattered by a loud explosion from sis’s giant state of the art blender when a kitchen knife left inside met the units carbon blades. The knife lost… The food was great, the setting on the porch with a view of the Tetons was classic and the dogs went vole hunting in the yard.

The men decided to ride their bikes up to Grand Targhee, Steph and I came home to our very clean cat, and another Teton Valley day is in the books…

Balloons 2016

Steph and I got up early this morning to watch the balloon launch, and I grabbed some great shots. This has become an annual event for us since Steph provides the propane for these birds. There’s always a free ride for Suburban and Merry out of Jackson got the ride today. There are 26 more photos that you can see by clicking the one below…

Here’s a short video of Merry’s launch:

Sorry Grandma

Sorry grandma, I know you want to take my picture with the fresh face painting but this old guy that I’ve never seen before, with a long beard and sunglasses, is pointing a weird camera with a handle on it at me and I don’t know what to do…

New Neighbors

We picked up this birdhouse a couple of years ago at a downtown Farmers Market in Driggs. It was free and they were promoting the preservation of a particular bird for which this structure was created. Well, we now have babies and mom and dad can quit buzzing my head, please…
