Chicken Adobo 2

Dave and Karen dropped by for some Chicken Adobo tonight. This is the national dish of the Philippines and I often ate some at a little spot by the Pike Place market in Seattle.

To re-create it I cooked up some rice noodles with fish sauce to put on the jasmine rice, before the chicken. Came out very close to the greatness of the original!

It should be noted that the chicken was a hormone and antibiotic free range sweetie. I couldn’t serve my special guests anything else!

Update! I just recalled that I have another Adobo post with pictures.

  1. It is addicting! I came somewhat close to the original but you would have to try it at the Oriental Kitchenette at the Pike Place Market in Seattle for comparison. Hmmm, think I’ll hop in the Lear and grab some for lunch. :-)

I’m sure there are ingredients and techniques the Filipinos have perfected for their national dish.
